Principal’s Welcome

Hello! My name is Mary Therrell and I feel so blessed to be the principal of Saint Ann Catholic School.Therrell Mary 4917 252057029

Saint Ann Catholic School is like no other school in this region. As principal, I’m privileged to be a part of a wonderful, gifted and caring group of students and this fabulous community. I’m proud to lead a dedicated group of teachers who are extremely committed to guiding and educating young minds.

I often say that God has called me to Catholic schools and to Saint Ann Catholic School in particular. I grew up in Bowie, Maryland and although I attended public schools I began my career immediately as an educator in the Arlington Diocese. I graduated from the University of Steubenville (now Franciscan University) in 1987 and began teaching that same year. I taught at The Cathedral of St. Thomas Moore for eight years, and then moved down to Woodbridge, VA where I taught for 10 years at Aquinas School.

In 2004 I earned my M.Ed through the Catholic Leadership Program at Marymount University in Arlington. I spent four years as assistant principal at St. Mary’s in Old Town Alexandria before coming to Saint Ann Catholic School as principal in 2009.

I know you will find Saint Ann Catholic  School to be the same unique and wonderful place that I have witnessed since I arrived. Anyone who comes to our school – and certainly those parents who have been long-time members of our community – can attest to the special differences you’ll find only at Saint Ann Catholic  School. Our students excel academically and attend some of the top schools in the region. But just as importantly, they are kind to one another. They learn and practice dignity and grace. They live their Catholic faith each and every day.

Saint Ann Catholic School has so much to offer our students and families; we hope to share our many wonderful gifts with your family as well. Please make an appointment to visit our school and see for yourself what a unique and caring community we are.

In Christ,

Mary Therrell
