Colleen Nevius
I am Colleen Nevius, and I teach MATH. I am currently working in the middle school of both St. Ann and St. Charles Schools. 2011-12 is my fourth year teaching Algebra to 8th graders in the Diocese, and I tutored algebra for ten years before that. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, am a retired Naval Officer, and am the mother of three teens. My work in the Navy as a helicopter test pilot inspired my move to the classroom. I believe it is critically important that all students, and particularly girls, trust in their ability to master mathematics, and I learned that mathematics are best mastered when they make sense in the context of the learners life. I work hard to make the mathematics relevant to my students, and to have some fun in the process.
