Welcome to Pre-K 4A! In this classroom we learn through play, music and movement. I have a background in Psychology and Human Development, so I am ready to make school a warm and welcoming environment for my students! Our classroom has many different modes of learning, such as outdoor nature walks, hands on learning activities, traditional reading and writing, as well as lots of singing and dancing! We have a theme and letter of the week where we focus specifically on learning new concepts and plan fun activities based on our themes.

• Use of songs to learn days of the week, months of the year, letters, numbers, and theme of the week.
• Use of movement to go along with songs to help develop gross motor skills
• Use of rhyme, rhythm, patterns and poetry to help remember concepts
• Our projects go along with our theme of the week
• We learn a letter of the week, while integrating the rest of the letters with songs, dances, stories and craft
• Daily quiet reading time and multiple stories read throughout the school day
• Develop spiritual, social, emotional, and physical skills
• Develop early math skills such as counting and patterns
• Weekly religion packets where students learn through scripture and participate in activities that help apply concepts to daily life
• Specials each week: computer, physical education, library, music and art
